Delhi Airport - hotel transfer.
By plane. Afternoon at leisure in Leh, where we can take a walk to the colorful bazaar
After by passing this beautiful stopping valley, we ascent up to 4900 m. by very steep zigzag, difficult footpath, by now it is 3 h. Now steep descent to summer pastures of Stok and follow the river which comes from Stok - Kangri massif.
Yurutse follow path along the mountainside, then cross a small valley and follow zig zag steep path. Thereafter cross Gandala. Then long descent towards Shingo. After 2 Hrs. descent arrive in the valley of Markha and then after few hundred meters further will reach Skiu.
From Skiu, follow a good path on the right bank of Markha where one can find great vegetation. Then cross right bank of river and cross through barren plain and arrive at Chaluk. Thereafter walk along the left bank of river and after another crossing climb towards Markha village. Good camp site beyond the village and near river.
Start trek towards the main valley on the right bank. The path is sometimes difficult in the river bed and pass the monastery of Humlung. Then carry on trek along the right bank and arrive in Hankar where there are several houses.
The path improves and cross a broad valley on the right side. The valley becomes narrow and higher and cross bridges on to the left bank and then reaches Tchatchuste. We climb pastures to reach Nimaling. This is one of most beautiful high valleys in Ladakh dominated by the Kang Yaze.
Cross the Markha valley and follow long climb along the mountain side, then zig zag road leads towards Kongmarula. Follow steep descent into gorges and then keep walking on the left bank to Chukirmo. Thereafter crossing right and left bank and arrive Shang, a beautiful camp in groves and there is a monastery an hour away from the village.
Hemis is the most important monastery of Ladakh, 360 years old. The gigantic Tankha, one of the largest in the world, is displayed once in 12 years. Last was in 1992.
We visit Hemis Monastery then drive to Shey Monastery. This one has a 7.5m copper statue of Buddha plated with gold, the largest of its kind. We drive to Thiksay Monastery.
Morning after breakfast at hotel transfer to airport to catch the flight to Delhi.
We will greet you at airport to assorted tourist sites of Delhi visiting Old & New Delhi visiting the huge Red Fort built with red sandstone is an eye catching monument. Also visit the crematory place of Mahatma Gandhi - Raj Ghat. Later visit New Delhi, India Gate the landmark of the city, the Parliament House, Humayun's Tomb is a fine example of Mughal architecture in India and the tallest stone tower called Qutub Minar. Overnight stay is in Delhi.
Today, after breakfast leave for Jaipur, the capital of the Royal Rajasthan the most lively and colourful state of India. Jaipur is a city with significant legacy background. It was found by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1728. It is a must visit city when in India as many dramatic monuments and antique palaces and forts are build here which are exclusive in their own individual way. Upon arrival check-in at your pre reserved hotel. Overnight stay is in Jaipur.
Today, after breakfast head to city tour of Jaipur visiting Amber Fort just 11km from Jaipur situated is this impressive and rocky structure. An elephant ride will take you up the hill to the exciting entrance for the fort. Next visit The City Palace and its huge museum and next site Jantar Mantar, the solar observatory which is an astronomical treasure and lastly Hawa Mahal also called as the Palace of Wind. This morning leave for Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri the Ghost Town, it is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1570 and served as the capital till 1585. This will be an pleasant trip. Later continue drive to Agra. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel and overnight stay.
After breakfast head to city tour of Agra visiting Taj Mahal, the most stunning symbol of everlasting love built ever. Standing on the banks Yamuna River, it was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jehan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal when she died during a child birth. Also visit Agra Fort also known as Red Fort of Agra, it is one of the most important forts of India. Next visit Itmad-ud-Daulah Tomb also called as the Baby Taj. Overnight at hotel
After breakfast drive back to Delhi enroute visiting Sikandra Fort - just 13 kms from Agra, the last resting place of the Mughal emperor Akbar. He was the supreme of the Mughal emperors and one of the most secular minded royalties of his time. Akbar was the inheritor to a long ritual of oriental enhancement, a great patron of the arts, literature, philosophy and science.
